Romance, trickery and comeuppance abound in Donizetti's effervescent comedy

This comic romp takes to the road in our first truly national tour from Kerikeri to Invercargill.

Grumpy Don Pasquale wants to spoil his nephew Ernesto's romance with the young widow Norina, and cut him off from his inheritance.  He also fancies getting married himself.  What the old man doesn't know is the joke is on him!  His 'marriage' to a naive young lady turns into an eye-popping nightmare because the bride is none other than Norina in disguise and she's out to teach him a lesson.  Can true love win the day?

Much loved New Zealand singer Conal Coad will return from overseas to make his directing debut and perform the leading role.  The NBR New Zealand Opera's Director of Music Wyn Davies and Wellington Chorus Master Michael Vinten will share the conducting role.

This delightful, accessible opera will be sung in English and will have you out the door and singing your way home by 9.30pm!
