Rehearsals begin today for the 2019 Opera in Schools production that will tour schools around the country in March and April.
Five singers and their pianist take this energetic and colourful 45 minute, English-language version of The Barber of Seville on the road.
The cast features all three of our 2019 Dame Malvina Major Emerging Artists – Will King, Pasquale Orchard and Angus Simmons, as well as former Emerging Artist Manase Latu and Freemasons Artist Deborah Rogers. This revival of the 2015 New Zealand Opera in Schools production is directed by Jaqueline Coats, and features designs by Elizabeth Whiting (costumes) and Jan Ubels (set) with Mark Dorrell as Music Director.
